Meet Mareeba State High School’s latest staff member

Meet Mareeba State High School's latest staff member... and someone CST is proud to call its own.
Nebo is a Beagle X who will be working primarily with the SWAD (School with a Difference) and MLC (Multi Learning Centre) students.
His training is supported by Tracey O’Connell local dog trainer and program co-ordinator for Youth Justice.
CST donated $500 for the school to purchase NEBO from YAPS and covered his initial setup costs.
This Animal-Assisted Therapy component will promote empathy, highlight body language and internal and external triggers
In term 3 Youth Justice will be teaching an intensive training program with our SWAD students. This program will focus on Social Skills, Anger Management and Moral Reasoning.
These students will be engaged with Northern Outlook three full day activities culminating the skills learnt at school.
Nebo is going to be an integral part of this program where he will be assisting to teach these skills to our students.
