Domestic and Family Violence Awareness

Domestic and Family Violence Awareness

Community Services Tablelands held a Domestic and Family Violence Prevention awareness event with a FREE Sausage Sizzle on the 24th May at Big W. The event was a huge success with over 100 sausages given away. In addition to this, several local organizations provided domestic violence information to members of the public.
The public showed their appreciation by donating a total of $30 to CST on the day. This will put towards areas of community need.

This event could not have gone ahead without the support of CST’s Bre Jenkins and Sandra Hunter who joined forces with Wuchopperen members Ron Turpin and Cameron Harries as well as Kelli Mills from Women’s Support Services. This combined effort shows that there are many local organizations willing to support victims of domestic abuse.
Thanks must also go to Nikki Taylor, journalist for the Tablelander Newspaper, who wrote an editorial article covering the event. This media coverage will help to build a broader awareness that Domestic Violence will not be tolerated in our community and that support is available for those in need.
